In brief

What works, what to weigh

  • Exceptional location — A short walk from La Rambla and Plaça de Catalunya, with Liceu metro about 10 minutes away, putting the city's highlights at your doorstep.
  • Unique design — Rooms feature hammocks, garden-view balconies, and separate lounges, with a rooftop terrace that guests love for relaxing.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Price on the higher side — Several guests felt the cost was steep for the offering, calling it 'cowry' (pricey) and suggesting it suits special occasions rather than extended stays.
  • Rooms and cleanliness at 7/10 — While the design impresses, this category scored relatively lower than others, suggesting some maintenance or housekeeping gaps.
  • Check-in window ends at midnight — Check-in is from 15:00 to 23:59, which may be tight for late arrivals, though 24-hour reception is available.
  • Breakfast not always hot — Some guests mentioned the breakfast buffet could be cold at times, though the omelette station was praised.

“Fantastic stay, a perfect base before our cruise. Staff were consistently courteous, the terrace breakfast was plentiful, and the location in the heart of the city was a plus. A great restaurant was just a short walk away, and Liceu tube station was about 10 minutes on foot.”

“Magnificent hotel with original touches. You get two rooms in one — a bedroom with a large comfortable bed and an original window into the inner courtyard with huge plant pots, plus a separate room with a sofa, chair, another TV, and a hammock. Full breakfast includes omelette or eggs, with options to add bacon or sausages, plus a buffet with ham, cheeses, pastries, cereals, yogurt, fresh juice, and more. Throughout the day, unlimited sandwiches, desserts, drinks, and Nespresso coffee are included. The common terrace has soft sofas, sunbeds, towels, and a tropical shower, plus a self-service 24-hour alco-bar. In the basement, a Cuban bartender makes cocktails, and there are two billiard tables and a fitness room. Free Wi-Fi router provided, and a 10% discount at Camper shoe shops. Location is superb, 3 minutes from La Rambla and 5 from Plaza Catalunya, with city tour buses nearby. Lots of restaurants and shops around — don't miss the Zoo!”

“The 24/7 buffet is very convenient, always available for a snack or soft drink. You can take a portable Wi-Fi device around the city. The roof terrace is a great spot to relax, and the staff are very nice and polite.”

“A fashionable room with a hammock, sleeping space, and TV. Very early check-in was possible, service was excellent, and late check-out was accommodated.”

“We stayed from December 12-15. The hotel is in the Gothic Quarter near main attractions, close to Plaza Catalunya. From the airport, the Aerobus takes about half an hour and costs €5.90 one-way; the hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the stop. Staff are polite and attentive, with a Russian-speaking employee named Vlad. Our suite (A35) had a bathroom window overlooking a vertical garden and a living room on a quiet, narrow street. Breakfast included sausages, cheeses, jamon, vegetables, omelettes, pastries, fruit, and coffee. During the day, you can get salads, sandwiches, soup, nuts, chips, and drinks. When it rained, the hotel offered umbrellas.”

“Everything was excellent, a solid 10/10. Interesting, extraordinary interior with many designer finds, all thoughtful and comfortable. Staff were very attentive, a Russian-speaking receptionist showed us around and explained how to use all amenities. Breakfasts are great, and there's access to snacks, yogurts, sandwiches, juices, coffee, and water all day. Portable Wi-Fi is available for walks around the city, and a discount card for the same brand of shoes is provided. Highly recommend.”
